My Flight Essentials

Hello!

It's officially the summer holidays as of yesterday! I'm off to Tuscany in Italy tomorrow for 12 days. So that means I'm going to be on a plane for about 3 hours tomorrow and I'm going to need certain things to keep me entertained in the air. So I decided to include my flight essentials into the Summer Essentials series I'm doing!

Magazines and Books
I love to chill out and read while I'm on the plane. My favourite magazine is Company but I want to read some others this summer. I love Company because it has a beautiful layout and it always has really cool articles. I want to read lots of books this summer starting with Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick. I've seen the film and loved it so hopefully the book is even more amazing! I will be reading lots more books this summer but I want to save those for another post!

Music
I'll be listening to my Summer Playlist (see this post) on the plane. Recently I've been listening to lots of musicals especially Phantom of the Opera. I also listen to lots of Disney musicals like Frozen, Tangled and Aladdin! Albums I've been loving have been "X" by Ed Sheeran and "Wanted on Voyage" by George Ezra.

Snacks
On long journeys I can never eat anything with a strong aftertaste like Pringles so mints are a must. My favourites are either Tic Tacs or Smints. I like to eat sweet things like chocolate and popcorn but I also eat healthier things like dried fruit. I also try to drink lots of water!

Outfit
Comfort is my top priority when travelling so I'll be wearing a comfy jumper and loose fitting top with jeans and Converse. I always put my hair in a top knot so it's out of my face and not bothering me. I don't wear any makeup because it's really not necessary and I try to let my skin breathe as much as possible!

Sorry there was no pictures today! I've been really pushed for time! I don't know when I will next post so follow me on twitter (@hattiehards) for updates.

See you soon!

My Summer Playlist

Hello!

So I've seen lots of "Summer Essentials" posts around the blogosphere and I thought I'd make a series out of it. So for the next few weeks I'll be posting about everything I think makes a great summer. My first essential is an awesome summer playlist. I love using Spotify to listen to all my favourite summer tunes. Here's my summer playlist.

1. Long Way Home - 5 Seconds of Summer
This is one of the tracks from their debut album and one of my favourites. I actually bought tickets to see them next summer so I am super excited as they are my favourite band. "Long Way Home" is a song about making the most of your time with loved ones. It's an anthem to blast and sing at the top of your lungs with your friends.

2. Don't - Ed Sheeran
This is one of the tracks off his new album "X". The new album is awesome and perfect for long car journeys. I like "Don't" because it's seriously catchy!

3. Chandelier - Sia
This song is really popular right now, I've seen so many people rave about it but I only just listened to it the other day. I wasn't sure at first, it sounded like any old Rihanna song but now I love it. Sia's range is just incredible especially in the chorus. I love this song so much, I want everyone to hear it!
.
4. Budapest - George Ezra
I think Budapest is my favourite song from my playlist at the moment. George Ezra has a beautiful low voice and his debut album is just wonderful. More people should hear more of his music, he's definitely a rising star! Budapest has all the components of a great summer tune and will probably on repeat all summer!

5. Classic - MKTO
I've actually loved this song for a few monthes but it seems to be only just becoming popular in the UK. It's catchy and upbeat, perfect for summer! It also references "classic" stars like Michael Jackson, Audrey Hepburn and Frank Sinatra.

6. The Hardest Part - Nina Nesbitt
This one is a ballad and not as upbeat and happy as the other but a great song nevertheless. Nina Nesbitt is one of my favourite artists right now and her album "Peroxide" is flawless. It's a heartbreaking song but listening to it always relaxes me. Please go listen to Nina's album, my other favourites include "Stay Out" and "Some You Win".

7. Into The Wild - Lewis Watson
I discovered Lewis through my best friend Evie who is always raving about him. He has a beautiful tone to his voice and the melodies are amazing. He's just released his debut album and I'll definitely be looking out for more music from him in the future!

8. Heartbreak Dream - Betty Who
I really like this song as it never fails to get me in that summery mood. It's upbeat and great for chilling out this summer. I also love "Somebody Loves You" from Betty.

See you soon!

Cornbury Festival

Hello!
Last weekend I went to Cornbury Festival. The weather was lovely apart from a little rain on Friday. I had such a great weekend I thought I'd share some of my highlights with you!

On Friday I saw The Feeling, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Arrested Development and Jools Holland! I was surprised at how many of the songs I knew, particularly with Sophie Ellis Bextor. Arrested Development put on a really fun show and had the crowd dancing and singing throughout. Jools Holland was fabulous as always, his band was ridiculously talented especially the drummer, nicknamed the nuclear reactor! Mel C also made an appearance with Jools and the band. It really set the mood for the weekend.

Saturday was undoubtably amazing! I saw Nina Nesbitt one of my favourite artists right now! I listen to Peroxide all the time so I had a great time singing all the words. She is amazing live and so lovely. She hopped off the stage during Stay Out and hugged me and some other girls as we were at the front! Nina is so talented and gorgeous; seeing her just made my weekend! Also playing Saturday were Scouting For Girls and Simple Minds. This is the second time I've seen both of these bands and I'm seeing Simple Minds for the third time at CarFest later this summer. Scouting For Girls were awesome as always with their hits like She's So Lovely and This Ain't A Love Song. Despite seeing Simple Minds before I only really knew Don't You Forget About Me. I think their hits were a little before my time! They were amazing nevertheless and made Saturday unforgettable.

Sunday was the last day which saw 10cc, Gipsy Kings, Sam Bailey and Luke Friend take to the stage. I don't know 10cc or Gipsy Kings very well but both were very impressive. I didn't really see much of Luke or Sam but what I did hear sounded great. I don't tend to watch much X Factor, I'm a Strictly girl! We spent most of the day going round the vast number of stalls they had, mainly selling thread bracelets and flower crowns (obviously I had to buy both!).

The festival was awesome, I enjoyed every bit of it!

See you soon!

My Favourite YouTubers

Hello!

So now that it's summer, we are all going to have a lot of time on our hands. My favourite way to fill my evenings is watching YouTubers. These people, who started out making videos in their bedroom, have millions of devoted subscribers watching their content each week. These successful young people have so many fans because they are essentially normal people that people can relate to. So here are some of my favourites!

Zoe Sugg
Zoella - 5 million subs
MoreZoella - 1.8 million subs
Zoe started blogging over on www.zoella.co.uk before starting her channel. She makes all sorts of videos from beauty and fashion to challenges and advice. She's so down to earth and lovely that when you watch her videos you feel like you are best friends! Her second channel is just as fab as Zoe vlogs her day often, usually with her boyfriend, Alfie (PointlessBlog) and other YouTube friends. She's also honest about the darker side of her fame, how she suffers anxiety and the pressures of having such a large audience. Go subscribe to both channels as Zoe is a truly lovely girl!

Connor Franta
Connor Franta - 2.7 million subs
O2L (collab channel) - 2 million subs
I've written about Connor before on this blog because he is my favourite YouTuber at the moment. He is part of a collab channel called Our 2nd Life with 5 other guys, JC, Kian, Ricky, Trevor and Sam. His videos always make me laugh and smile. I love how he is becoming closer friends with the British YouTubers. Frantastic Mondays are a real highlight of my week. I can't really describe what it is about Connor that makes him so wonderful, you'll just have to watch his videos!

Eva Gutowski
My Life as Eva - 600,000 subs
Eva is a recent discovery of mine; she really deserves more subscribers as her videos are of a really good quality and she always makes great content. I love her style and bubbly personality! Subscribe for awesome videos and lots of inspiration!

Emma Blackery
Emma Blackery - 675,000 subs
More Emma - 200,000 subs
Emma is a sarcastic British YouTuber known for her sense of humour. She is really funny and dyes her hair all sorts of bright colours. Go subscribe to her for plenty of laughs!

Joe Sugg
ThatcherJoe - 2.2 million subs
Joe is Zoe's brother but a great YouTuber in his own right. His videos are always funny whether they are prank calls or impressions. He is also really talented at impressions! He is also really consistent in the quality of his videos, I think he might be one of the best YouTubers for the quality of his content. Subscribe to Joe, you won't regret it!
