♥ Birthday Haul 2015 ♥

Hello!

I am officially 16 years old! It was my birthday on Saturday and I was lucky enough to receive some really lovely things from my friends and family so I thought I'd share some of them with you today!

Disclaimer - I love reading posts like these, I'm always really interested so that's why I'm doing this today. Please don't feel like I'm boasting at all, keep reading only if you like to read these posts!

Tsum Tsums. I have wanted to start collecting these ever since I saw them on the gorgeous Jemma's blog. They are adorable so I was over the moon when my brother, Alex, and one of my best friends, Téa, got me some! I now have Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Stitch, Elsa, Olaf and Perry the Platypus, 7 in total. They make me so happy to look at and I'm sure you'll see plenty of them as props for my blog photos!

Clothing. Recently I've been loving Pull & Bear's clothing so my parents got me a beautiful big jumper and a tee shirt, both in red for Autumn obviously. I also got two Topshop skirts that I look forward to wearing with thick tights and boots.

Planner. Another mention of Jemma now as I first saw this beautiful planner on her blog. I asked for it from my parents and it is just as pretty in real life! It's so artsy and cute, it's going to make organisation a lot more fun.

Candles. My friends gave me a Blackcurrent & Forest Plum candle, a Nectarine & Lemon Blossom candle and matching tea lights. They smell amazing, I can't wait to burn them!

Books. My parents gave me a few books including a really cool book with details about all of Shakespeare's plays (English nerd much?) and Me, Earl and the Dying Girl!

Stationary. One of my other best friends, Evie, got me some awesome ruler pencils (yep, they are pencils but also rulers) and some crayons in the shape of ducks! She knows me so well ... ;)

Bathroom stuff. My other best friend Becca bought me some amazing Soap and Glory products and Evie gave me some beautiful Baylis & Harding hand soaps. They smell incredible!

Purse. My parents gave me this gorgeous purse from Accessorize, I'm kind of in love with it!

I hope you enjoyed this little post, I'm trying to up my photography game so let me know what you think!

What's on your wishlist?

Have a wonderful week!

10 Reasons Why Autumn Is The Best Season

Cute Fall Things
Hello!

Autumn is fast approaching, I think it officially begins towards the end of September but to be honest it starts for me as soon as I go back to school. The shops are already in full Autumn/Winter mode and so am I. My Pinterest boards are brimming with Autumnal style, make up, food etc so if you like this post you should head over there as I'm really upping my game at the moment!

When it comes to excellent seasons, Winter, Summer and Spring don't quite measure up to Autumn, so today I'm going to share with you all the reasons why Autumn is clearly the superior season!

1) Seasonal Drinks. Warm drinks are a godsend when it gets cold outside and it's extra special when the Pumpkin Spice Lattes come out. My faves are anything with Salted Caramel in it! There's nothing like wrapping your fingers round a red Starbucks cup when it's chilly out.

2) Chunky Knitwear. It's not quite time to dust off the Christmas jumpers yet but you definitely need huge jumpers and scarves to stay warm. Bonus points if said knitwear is in a deep red/burgundy colour.

3) Lighting the fire and curling up with a good book. A dream scenario in my opinion, add a hot beverage and a lovable pooch by your feet and you have a perfect evening!

4) Berry Toned Lipsticks. Finally a season when it's socially acceptable to go a bit vampy on the lips and eyes! I've collected lots and lots of beautiful Autumn looks on my Pinterest board - Paint.

5) Fallen leaves lining the pavements. I'm talking about the dry ones that crunch under your feet when you walk and give the streets a burst of colour.

6) Halloween. It's the festival that means you can be the most creative, I'm never any good at costumes but it's amazing fun to see everyone else's and decorate with all things spooky! I do like making an effort with pumpkins though, all you need is a simple idea and you can carve something really cool.

7) Fruit-Filled Pies and Puddings. Apple pie, blackberry crumble, all topped off with warm vanilla custard! It's the type of comfort food I long for, all year round.

8) Black Ankle Boots. I love wearing cute little boots with skinny jeans or woolly tights and a skirt. Add a chunky scarf and you're good to go!

9) My Birthday. On Saturday I'll be turning 16! Such a scary age to me right now, it seems a world away from 15 even though I've only aged 365 days! Birthdays are really fun so it's another reason why I love Autumn.

What's your favourite season? What do you love most about Autumn?

Have a wonderful week?

Love Your Music Taste

Embrace What Make You UniqueHello!

Music is such a huge part of my life, I can't participate in it (apart from a little shower singing) but I
listen to it constantly. It's amazing to hear someone's thoughts and stories set to a melody and given another layer of meaning, well that and the fact that it's really fun to dance to! I have a pretty wide taste in music, I'll be sharing my absolute favourite music, further down in the post if you want to scroll down a tad.

Not the most important of issues, I know, but it's interesting to me nonetheless!

I'm proud of my music taste, like my food preferences and my favourite films, I don't see why people make it their business to police what is "cool" or not. Who even cares if I like listening to K-Pop or Swedish Death Metal? Please never tell anyone that their favourite band is "cringey", listen to what you want to listen to. Take recommendations and discuss music with your friends but never let anyone guilt you about it. I don't understand why some music is classed as a guilty pleasure, I'm sure the artists didn't want that when they wrote it.

I'm not going to lie, this was kind of prompted by a certain Kanye West at the VMAs. He started to talk about why he didn't understand why there was a need for award ceremonies in music, right before he announced he was running for president! It makes a lot of sense, why do we make the arts competitive at all? Maybe it encourages people to improve their work but really, as Kanye said, it makes people into losers. Don't get me wrong, I love award shows but they are such a weird way of celebrating the industry.

Phew, now that's out the way, here's my current and all time favourite artists. These awesome people constitute my unique music taste as of September 2015.

5 Seconds Of Summer
My friends and I went to their concert in June and had the time of our lives, we absolutely love them! Their sound is inspired by bands such as Green Day and All Time Low but is also pop enough to be in the Top 40. I'm really excited for their new album, Sounds Good Feels Good, to
Favourite Song: Jet Black Heart

Taylor Swift
You probably already know my feelings on Miss Swift, she is incredible, beautiful and a brilliant songwriter. I saw her in June and it was one of the best nights of my life. She's so lovely and her songs are all masterpieces. I love her a lot and it makes me so happy to see her taking over the world.
Favourite Songs: Enchanted, Wildest Dreams and Long Live

One Direction
1D are great. They've improved so much since their X Factor days and Harry Styles's voice is beautiful. The songs are really catchy, perfect for dance parties in your pyjamas!
Favourite Songs: Girl Almighty and Drag Me Down

Little Mix
I saw Little Mix last year but their new stuff is what I really love about them.  I'm so proud of the girls,
Favourite Songs: Hair and Black Magic

Musical Theatre (in particular Kinky Boots)
I've loved musical theatre since I was really young, it's a huge part of me. I go through phases of being in love with different soundtracks and recently I was lucky enough to get to see Kinky Boots with Killian Donnelly in it (my inner Les Mis fangirl is screaming right now!) So basically now I am in love with the whole musical and would very much like a pair of those boots if anyone wanted to send me some?
Favourite Songs: Soul of a Man (Killian's performance was incredible), The History of Wrong Guys and Land of Lola.

My Chemical Romance
I don't really know what to say about this but I just really like them!
Favourite Song: Na Na Na

Panic! at the Disco
Brendon Urie's voice is everything and the songs are really catchy and clever. I'm looking forward to some new stuff from them soon.
Favourite Songs: Hallelujah and This Is Gospel

Other notable faves include Lorde, Halsey, Haim and Hey Violet.
So please don't feel embarrassed about what make you happy, it makes you unique!

Who are your favourite artists? Do we share any of them?

Have a wonderful week!
